Experienced NZ builders.
Concept Build Group builds new homes, renovations, commercial fit-outs and industrial projects across Auckland, Wellington and beyond, and maintains them once they're done. We've built our team around experienced tradespeople and a project management function that keeps every job running properly.
We take on work across both residential and commercial. That range keeps our team sharp, and it means we can handle a project at any scale - a single renovation through to a full commercial fit-out.
Our mission
Our mission is to partner with people across New Zealand to create exceptional, high-performing spaces, while developing skilled professionals who strengthen the future of our industry.
How we work
A proper process, every time.
Every project runs through a proper process. We scope it thoroughly, cost it honestly, and give you a clear programme before work starts. Once we're on site, you'll have a point of contact who knows your job and can tell you exactly where it stands.
Behind the trades is a full office and project management team handling scheduling, budgets, consents and coordination. It's the part that keeps a build on programme, and it's where a lot of jobs come unstuck when it's missing.
We don't over-promise to win work. We tell you what's realistic, what it costs, and then we do it.
What matters to us
What we hold ourselves to.
Quality workmanship
"At Concept Build Group, we're non-negotiable on the quality of our work and customer satisfaction - those are the two things that have to be nailed on every project. There might be 100 RFIs towards the end of a job, because every little detail matters. Things need to be documented and recorded properly, so nothing gets missed."
Straight communication
Clear answers, accurate timelines, and no loose ends.
Reliability
We turn up, we stick to programme, and we finish what we start.
Licensed and accountable
"We're part of the Auckland Business Chamber, Master Builders and Certified Builders, and in 2025 we were named a finalist for Employer of the Year in the 2degrees Business Awards."

Henry McGarry
DIRECTOR
Henry leads the company. A third-place finisher in the 2018 Registered Master Builders Apprentice of the Year, he started out focused on bungalow and villa renovations and extensions, working solo on small residential projects before building the company into the team it is today. He now leads a crew of [14] carpenters across the company's residential and commercial work.

James Botherway
PROJECT MANAGER
James joined the team in early 2024 with years of industry experience and a track record running his own construction business in Wellington. His background is in residential renovations, which gives him a deep grounding in project management, client communication, and high-quality work. His real strength is villa restoration - he's restored several of his own over the years, and brings genuine practical knowledge and a feel for the character and craftsmanship of older homes.

Ashleigh Haughey
OFFICE MANAGER
Ashleigh runs back-of-house. She came in with a strong background in operations and administration, built working with a Wellington landscaping company and a stint in the superyacht industry, both of which sharpened her eye for organisation and her ability to work under pressure. She manages the financial side of projects and keeps the day-to-day business running - accounting, administration, and the systems that hold everything together.
